Daniel Bryan was not backstage for last night’s episode of WWE SmackDown Live, according to a report from PWInsider. Bryan hasn’t been on the road for WWE since dropping the WWE Championship to Kofi Kingston at WrestleMania 35. Bryan was injured during the bout and has been resting at home since.
The nature of the situation is being closely guarded, and no information regarding the type or severity of the injury have been made public. This is especially concerning considering the concussion history the former WWE Champion has, and how close it came to putting an end to his in-ring WWE career. However, as aforementioned, it remains to be seen if that is at all related to Bryan’s current injury concerns.
