Having two titles comes with having twice the responsibility. It looks like Becky Lynch will find that out soon enough. Lynch currently possesses both the RAW and SmackDown Live Women’s Championships after her triumphant and historic victory over Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 35.
According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, Lynch will be defending both her titles at WWE’s next pay-per-view (PPV) event, Money In The Bank (MITB). However, Lynch will be doing so in two different matches. It has been confirmed that Lynch will be facing Lacey Evans at the MITB PPV. Meltzer clarified that Lynch’s match for Evans won’t be for both titles.
It’s expected WWE will set up Lynch’s match for the SDL Women’s Title very soon, perhaps even on tonight’s episode. In a recent promo, Evans noted that she’s looking forward to taking both of Lynch’s titles off her. Meltzer speculates that, perhaps, Evans could earn a title opportunity for the SDL Women’s strap as well. However, that remains to be seen. For now, Lynch vs. Evans remains strictly for the RAW Women’s Title.
Meltzer also revealed that the term “belt” is no longer banned by WWE. Vince McMahon had previously barred the word from WWE programming, preferring terms like “championship” and “title” instead. It was noted that Lynch calling herself “Becky Two Belts” was not the reason for the decision.
