Richochet, Adam Cole, and Johnny Gargano sat down to discuss their road to the WWE and their careers on Table for 3: Courtesy of WWE Network, and on it, Gargano recalled a great story about Vince McMahon.
According to Gargano, after appearing once on WWE Television, he awoke one day to his mother waking him up, telling him that the WWE had contacted him and was looking for someone to appear on SmackDown. “I show up to the Quicken Loans Arena, and I am 19, and have no idea what to do,” he said, recounting on how he tried to enter the arena through the front door.
Once inside, Gargano was shown to the wardrobe department, which confused him further. “I’m like, wardrobe? I brought my own gear…they brought this kind of elf looking outfit, and they put it on me, and now we’re going to Vince’s office,” he said. “And I swear it was like a movie, he was kind of reading a newspaper, and the newspaper comes down, and it’s just Vince McMahon, and he goes ‘…he looks great! Thanks for doing this.’”
Gargano was then sent out to wrestle as Cedrick von Haussen, the champion of Liechtenstein. Of course, his debut was less than glorious, as the superstar was quickly dispatched by MVP. After heading backstage, Gargano was thanked once again by McMahon, and his job was done.
