After suspending all football operations earlier this month, The Alliance of American Football has officially filed for bankruptcy. The league, which kicked off immediately after the conclusion of the last NFL season, was highly praised in the first few weeks for providing fans with a fresh and unique product. However, it soon became clear that it wasn’t financially sustainable.
While many football fans won’t be happy about this news, it certainly clears the path for the XFL and probably gives them a better shot of succeeding in the long run.
