Ring of Honor World Championship Ladder Match: Jay Lethal (c) vs. Marty Scurll vs. Matt Taven
Ring of Honor’s main event scene is a mess. Lethal has been on a nostalgia run. Scurll keeps playing fast and loose with his contract status. Taven is…well…Taven. This match is likely to be as chaotic as its build, and is also likely to leave the least satisfying taste in the audiences mouth. Best case scenario, Jay Lethal retains, and continues to be the franchise of Ring of Honor. Worst case scenario, Scurll or Taven wins and Villain Enterprises vs. The Kingdom becomes the main event feud. Should be a human demolition derby, and impossible to look away from. Hopefully Ring of Honor can find a way to take whatever momentum this show generates and run with it.
IWGP Heavyweight Championship Match: Jay White (c) vs. Kazuchika Okada
Kazuchika Okada and Jay White are set to have a WrestleKingdom rematch in the main event at Madison Square Garden. What a time to be alive. As Japan welcomes a New Imperial Era, so to is NJPW welcoming a New Era. Jay White is desperate to defend the IWGP Heavyweight Title, lest he fall with no defenses like Tanahashi before him. Bullet Club and CHAOS are destined to feud forever, and this is another chapter in that storied rivalry. You don’t get more Main Event™ than The Rainmaker, and Switchblade Jay White is set for his first true Main Event.
