Full G1 Supercard Preview
Ring of Honor & New Japan Pro-Wrestling are set to make their Madison Square Garden debuts with G1 Supercard. The event is set to air LIVE on Fite TV, Traditional PPV, & NJPWWorld.com on April 6th at 7pm EDT. Here is a full breakdown of all the matches,
Pre-Show
G1 Supercard will feature a preshow at 6:30pm EDT. It will be available on Fite TV, Traditional PPV & Ring of Honor’s Facebook page.
Kagetsu, Jenny Rose & Hazuki vs. Hana Kimura, Stella Grey & Sumie Sakai
In a show that boasts talent from Ring of Honor, NJPW & CMLL, expect this Stardom showcase to turn some heads. Many have complained about Ring of Honor’s hesitance in pushing the Women of Honor division, but this six-woman tag will be a good way to highlight the division on a packed card.
Honor Rumble
This year’s WrestleKingdom did not have the New Japan Rumble, much to the dismay of many fans. This match will fill that wacky, wild void that only a good pre-show Rumble can.
Main Card
WINNER TAKE ALL MATCH: Will Ospreay (NEVER Openweight Champion) vs. Jeff Cobb (ROH World Television Champion)
Jeff Cobb has been on a better run with the Television Title than Jay Lethal has with the world title. He recently stole the show at Ring of Honor’s 17th Anniversary, and he’s been on NJPW’s radar for quite some time. Ospreay has recently added more feats of strength to his Jr. Heavyweight arsenal, and has been on a tear with the NEVER Title. There’s no way this doesn’t set a heated tone to the entire evening.
Rush vs. Dalton Castle
Rush is quite simply one of the top stars in CMLL and the early stages of his Ring of Honor run indicate that the company has similar plans. Dalton Castle is not quite the man he was when he held the Ring of Honor title, but nonetheless he’s a former-champion, hungry for the spotlight. This match should be a good chance for Rush to prove how he became one of the most hated men in Mexico.
Women of Honor World Championship Match: Mayu Iwatani (c) vs. Kelly Klein
The current standard bearers of the Women of Honor division are set to wrap up a five match series. There is no guess work needed, these two are going to have a true war for the Women of Honor title.
