Both Michael Elgin and young lion Teruaki Kanemitsu are no longer with New Japan Pro-Wrestling. The news comes from occasional NJPW commentator and translator Chris Charlton.
More details about Elgin’s departure have come in from Voices of Wrestling. The report states that Elgin wanted out and the feeling was mutual with NJPW. As such, he wasn’t booked for the G1 tournament and his deal expired in March. As far as his future, they’re saying that other promotions in Japan and IMPACT Wrestling are a “legitimate possibility.”
Was told weeks ago that Elgin wanted out, both sides seemed to be done with one another. He wasn't booked for G1 and saw the writing on the wall. He's interested in at least two other Japanese promotions, and Impact is a legitimate possibility. https://t.co/q6w2y4Obpe
