This past weekend at AAW, Fenix suffered an injury which would later be diagnosed as a ‘muscle contusion.’ According to Sports Illustarted, Fenix plans to still wrestle as scheduled at the upcoming Lucha LaVOOM event.
“I’ve wrestled before for a sandwich and oranges, I just love to be in the ring,” said Fenix. “This is my life. I’ll be there.”
As reported, Fenix suffered an injury at AAW where he was ‘stretchered’ out of the ring on a folding table. Fenix was then sent to the hospital and was released the next day. The injury occurred after hitting a cutter-like maneuver and after completing the move Fenix began to clutch his head. When his tag team partner, Pentagon Jr., discovered that Fenix was injured, the match immediately went to the finish.
The injury came after Pentagon Jr. and Fenix made an appearance at the ticket announcement party for ‘Double Or Nothing’ for All Elite Wrestling. With his signing to AEW, Fenix now has added more to his already busy schedule and, according to Fenix, the injury will not remove him from any of his scheduled matches.
UPDATE on @ReyFenixMx – He has been treated and released from the hospital with a muscle contusion. He is feeling good and will be back up to 100% after some rest.
We thank you all for your concern and for making #LUCHACITY such wonderful time!
