Triple H was recently interviewed by Sports Illustrated as WWE NXT gets ready for Halftime Heat, which will stream live on WWE Network during halftime of the Super Bowl. This will be the first time in 20 years that WWE will be running Halftime Heat and in a comment to Sports Illustrated, Triple H explained why WWE brought it back.
“This is a great opportunity for us to showcase the future. Our fans are thirsting for more, and it’s the perfect fit for NXT. This will be something spectacular like you’ve never seen before.”
Halftime Heat will feature a six-man tag team match where Aleister Black, Velveteen Dream and Ricochet will face off against Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa and Adam Cole. In the same interview, Triple H discussed whether Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski would be interested in joining WWE.
“Gronk has mentioned WWE before, that he loves it and said had so much fun doing it. I don’t know if it’s something he’d be seriously interested in, but that’s how the conversation started with Ronda Rousey, too. Certainly the door is open for him at WWE.”
