FIRST MATCH: Ren Narita vs. Yuya Uemura
Another great match from these standouts. Almost akin to the Inoki era of NJPW, this was a strikes and suplex bonanza. Definitely worth checking out.
Need To Watch Rating: (4.5)
SECOND MATCH: Manabu Nakanishi & Toa Henare vs. Ayato Yoshida & Shota Umino
Solid tag match. Umino and Yoshida continue to grow as a team. Henare is starting to plateau however and these senseless tag matches aren’t helping.
Need To Watch Rating: (2.0)
THIRD MATCH: Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Tiger Mask vs. Takashi Iizuka & TAKA Michinoku
Iizuka’s farewell tour begins. This match is divisive, as the story of Tenzan trying to appeal to Iizuka’s long ignored humanity is touching but not exactly accessible to newer fans. Definitely worth the watch for fans of old men fights.
Need To Watch Rating: (3.6)
FOURTH MATCH: Togi Makabe, Toru Yano, Ryusuke Taguchi, Tomoaki Honma & YOSHI-HASHI vs. Bullet Club (Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa, Yujiro Takahashi, Taiji Ishimori & Chase Owens)
A really fun tag match that shot a burst of energy into the show. Bullet Club’s war on CHAOS/Main Unit has been some pretty fun, layered storytelling up and down the card.
Need To Watch Rating: (5.9)
FIFTH MATCH: Los Ingobernables de Japon (Tetsuya Naito, BUSHI & Shingo Takagi) vs. Suzuki-gun (Taichi, El Desperado & Yoshinobu Kanemaru)
LIJ vs. Suzuki-gun is always good. LIJ vs. Suzuki-gun is never bad.
Need To Watch Rating: (6.7)
SIXTH MATCH: SANADA vs. Minoru Suzuki
Spectacular match. SANADA and Suzuki have a pretty natural chemistry. One can see SANADA aging into Suzuki’s style someday. Really worth going out of your way for.
Need To Watch Rating: (9.1)
SEVENTH MATCH: EVIL vs. Zack Sabre Jr.
An absolute masterpiece. These two exchange holds, strikes and submissions like nobody’s business and it leads to a gripping 20+ minutes of effective, gripping storytelling. EVIL and Sabre have been itching for this match since last year and they savor every second of this beautiful, violent classic.
Need To Watch Rating: (10.0)
MAIN EVENT: Hiroshi Tanahashi & Kazuchika Okada vs. Bullet Club (Jay White & Bad Luck Fale)
A true MAIN EVENT tag match. Tanahashi and Okada are electric together. Jay White has really started to come into his own, now that he’s the top Gaijin in the company. Fale is in asskicker mode. Gedo is there as well. Really fun end to the show.
