Ronda Rousey successfully defended the RAW Women’s Championship in a grueling contest against Sasha Banks at Royal Rumble. “The Boss” was a game challenger for “The Baddest Woman On The Planet”. countering early from Rousey’s armbar. After weeks of antagonizing Rousey on the microphone and in the ring, Banks was looking to prove on her words.

The match began as a back-and-forth battle with Rousey injury her arm early after striking the ring post. Banks would proceed to work on her left arm, softening up for a variety of arm submissions she has learned herself training for this opportunity. Rousey would battle back, locking in an armbar on the outside of the ring. The two would trade knee strikes between each other, in what looked to be Rousey’s toughest challenge to date.

Banks would try to make Rousey submit with the Banks Statement, but Rousey would counter with Piper’s Pit for the pinfall victory. As Rousey would celebrate the victory, Sasha would approach her to shake her hand. Before she would depart, however, Banks would raise her in the “Four Horsewomen” gesture, angering Rousey before she left.
