Reported Details On Matt & Jeff Hardy’s WWE Deals – When Do Their Contracts Expire?

Dave Meltzer took to his weekly Wrestling Observer Newsletter to share some details on the contracts for both Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy. After a long absence, the duo returned to the WWE at WrestleMania 33 and won tag team gold in the process. Since that time both brothers have gone on to pursuing different ventures with the company. Jeff Hardy captured the United States Championship and Matt Hardy won the RAW Tag Team Championships, alongside partner Bray Wyatt. Both brothers have missed time due to injuries. Matt Hardy recently took to Twitter to announce that he was ‘greenlit’ for an in-ring return. After taking time off to rehabilitate, Matt Hardy reports that he is in the best shape he’s been in in twenty years and despite rumors to the contrary, is nowhere close to retiring.

Meltzer reports that both Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy’s deals are set to expire sometime during this year’s WrestleMania season. Meltzer adds that the duo signed a two year deal in 2017, but that the WWE has a third year option on the contract. According to Meltzer, the WWE will likely pick up that third year option keeping both Matt and Jeff in the WWE for another year. Meltzer also notes that the third year option does include a substantial pay raise.

Meltzer also adds that Matt Hardy is indeed scheduled to return to the WWE, but he is currently ‘unsure’ as to when the exact timetable is for that return. Meltzer also notes that The Hardy Boyz vs The Young Bucks set the Ring of Honor attendance record before it was broken by Kenny Omega vs Cody Rhodes.
