It’s the most wonderful Rusev Day of the year, as the Bulgarian Brute finally defeated Shinsuke Nakamura to win the WWE United States Championship in the SmackDown Live Main Event.

Nakamura has had a steady reign as United States Champion since winning the title from Jeff Hardy at SummerSlam, but has pick and chose his defenses wisely. The moment he came across actual competition, it was either in non-title defenses or he would attack them beforehand, which brings in Rusev. Rusev had chased him for weeks for attempting to regain his title opportunity.
