NJPW Star TAKA Michinoku To Accept Bookings In The United States

After a long hiatus, Japanese wrestling legend TAKA Michinoku is returning to the United States once again.

The current New Japan star and Kaientai Dojo owner posted on social media today announcing that starting next year, he will be taking bookings in the Western hemisphere, barring any other circumstances:

“Until now, I have refused all offers for matches outside of Japan. However, next year, depending on my schedule and conditions, I’m thinking about doing matches overseas. Please contact me at takam69@yahoo.co.jp”

The former WWF Light Heavyweight Champion has been shrouded in controversy recently, as an extramarital affair scandal led to his suspension from Kaientai Dojo and his removal from the board of directors. Michinoku has last wrestled in NJPW on Nov. 1, teaming up with Minoru Suzuki in a loss against Rocky Romero and Tomohiro Ishii. Since then, he has worked dates with K-Dojo, though his suspension leaves him wrestling without pay for a calendar year. It remains to be seen if the current bookings in the United States are a result of his suspension or not.

He last wrestled in North America during his stint with WWF/E, from 1997-2001 as a part of the Kaientai stable and later tag team with Sho Funaki.
