Former WWE Superstar Christian took to E&C’s Pod of Awesomeness for a fan Q&A and after being asked by a listener to do so, addressed Bruce Prichard’s recent comments on Something To Wrestle that the Un-Americans didn’t work out due to being ‘scared of the heat.’ Christian stated, “I can’t speak for the other guys, but for me personally, I don’t agree. To me it was just – if something’s really gonna work, you have to believe 100% into what you’re doing and I just didn’t believe in this particular character, not that I didn’t want to or I didn’t want to try. I just didn’t believe in it and it’s hard to go out there and fake your way through something when you aren’t invested in it 100%. I had every intention in trying to make it work. It just didn’t. That just wasn’t me, so it’s hard to go out there and go all in on that when it wasn’t me and that’s what it was, for me anyway.”
Christian also addressed not cutting his hair during that time period, “Yeah, I didn’t cut my hair. I wanted to. I wanted it to be and I knew that there could be some push back on this, but I didn’t want it to be for something that I wasn’t sure of what the shelf life of what that team was gonna be and I wanted it to be – if I wasn’t gonna be Edge & Christian anymore and I probably should have done it then when we first broke up and I was too immature and too inexperienced enough to realize I should have completely done the change then and I didn’t. At that point, with the Un-Americans, I wanted to wait until the spotlight was on myself as a singles character and make the change then when it really meant something. That was my mindset at the time….There’s a maturity that goes along with gaining experience as well and I wasn’t at that level when Adam and I first broke up.”

Replacing Edge (Edge will return next week) for this week’s podcast was WWE Superstar Zack Ryder, who had plenty to share about the world of action figure collecting. Readers can listen to all that and more below:
