The Mixed Match Challenge playoffs kick into high gear with the SmackDown block, as the top two seeds try to keep their momentum rolling.

Fabulous Truth (R-Truth & Carmella) defeated Jeff Hardy & Charlotte Flair

The #1 seed by way of record, Hardy and Charlotte has only teamed up twice in this tournament, as the former replaced AJ Styles. Still, they were largely seen as the favorites against the immensely popular Fabulous Truth duo. Seven-second dance break aside, The Fabulous Truth were no pushovers as Truth and Hardy traded big nearfalls. When it looked like Hardy had the match won, Carmella would use herself as a human shield, giving Truth enough time to recover. He would avoid the Swanton attempt and put Hardy in a sunset flip to win the match and advance to the semifinals.

Team AWE-SKA (The Miz & Asuka) defeated Day One Glow (Jimmy Uso & Naomi)

The second SmackDown match featured the undefeated duo of Miz and Asuka against Jimmy Uso and Naomi. A little more serious than their first match, the defending champions didn’t keep their guard down. The Miz’s overconfidence almost got in the way and cost them, but Asuka would carry the load as she always does and defeated a very game Naomi in a fun match.

Now the semifinals of the Mixed Match Challenge is set, as the RAW block will have Mahalicia (Alicia Fox & Jinder Mahal) against Team B-N-B (Finn Balor & Bayley) while R-Truth & Carmella will face The Miz & Asuka on the SmackDown Block. The winners will meet in the Finals at TLC next Sunday.
