SmackDown Live closed with Randy Orton avenging his defeat at WWE Crown Jewel against longtime rival, Rey Mysterio. Orton lived up to his promise of doing something as worse as he did to Jeff Hardy, desecrating and stealing the legendary mask from Rey after the match.
The battle had Rey fending for his sacred mask throughout, with Orton trying to rip it in various times. Mysterio would try to mount a comeback and even attempted a 619, though Orton left the ting. Mysterio would try to do his signature slide to the floor but was met with an RKO in an incredible visual.

Orton would deliver another RKO for the win, but the victory wasn’t enough to satisfy him. He would wrap a chair around the neck of Mysterio and sent him to the ring post, causing his mask to fly off of him. Orton would grab the mask as if it was prized trophy after conquering his game, much to The Viper’s delight.
