On the Blue Brand, everything was really clustered on Tuesday as Bryan decided to put his foot down over WWE Crown Jewel, and maybe hurt his long-term future, to stand on the right side of things in Saudi Arabia.
He burned his title shot originally scheduled for tomorrow’s WWE Crown Jewel event on Tuesday in a great match against AJ Styles, but it is hard to see where the Yes Man goes from here. They can always shuffle him back into a feud with The Miz, but without a title or something else involved it might not seem to have the needed push to make it last.
Again, because of the desire to just “get through” WWE Crown Jewel, it seems everything on Tuesday night has been a little stale for the last couple of weeks. Expect things to pick up the pace after the event and moving into pre-Royal Rumble buildup.
One thing is certain, no matter what kind of scrambling the company is doing and no matter what is going on with both shows … Becky Lynch has become, as she would say, the man. Everyone looked forward to the feud with Charlotte Flair and knew it would be good, but the Irish Lasskicker’s ascension to new heights simply has been amazing.
Lynch and Flair absolutely stole the show at Evolution and deserve every bit of the accolades they have gotten. And Lynch has gone from someone who looked a little loss in the mix to the absolute top in the business, and that includes the megastar that is Rousey.
Her rise has forced another slight miscalculation by the top brass also. Everyone is going to be excited for Lynch vs. Rousey at Survivor Series and, honestly, it should be the main event, but the WWE is incorrect in thinking that Rousey would put Lynch more over as a heel. The opposite is poised to happen.
Rousey has been great and there is little reason to turn on her for the megapush like the fans did to The Big Dog, but if there is one way the WWE can unintentionally force the fans to turn on Rousey, it is by pushing her past the organically popular Lynch.
If they really want to shake things up, they will use this as a chance to show Rousey can be beaten and take Lynch to a next level with a win over the Baddest Woman on the Planet.
Little chance they go that way, but a Lynch win would change everything for the better and make the women’s division must see all the way to WrestleMania.
