PWInsider is reporting that Daniel Bryan is not going to make the trip to Saudi Arabia to compete at WWE Crown Jewel against AJ Styles.
As originally stated from Robbie Fox at Barstool Sports, Daniel Bryan, along with John Cena, were “refusing” to make the trip after news broke of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi getting brutally murdered at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on October 2nd.
It seems like the plan is for John Cena to be replaced on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, and for AJ Styles/Daniel Bryan to be advertised as if it is happening right up until the event, but Bryan will not be there. Some sort of pre-tape is being discussed now.

Word is unknown as to what the plans are for AJ Styles and his WWE Championship, but unless WWE decides to pre-tape the match, it looks like the dream bout between him and Daniel Bryan will yet again be on hold. PWInsider was also hearing that one plan was to record their championship match at the WWE Performance Center in Winter Park, Florida, but those plans have also been reportedly nixed.
Cena was also removed from the event and replaced by Bobby Lashley, but we will have more as this develops. You can read PWInsider’s full report by going here.
