SmackDown 1000 featured some of WWE’s most legendary stars of the past, but one huge name was missing: Chris Jericho. Despite appearing at RAW 25 earlier this year and being at the WWE Greatest Royal Rumble event, the lead singer of Fozzy was nowhere to be seen during SmackDown’s milestone event.
We now know why Chris Jericho wasn’t at the show, and there’s a pretty simple explanation. “Nobody asked me…” wrote Jericho on Twitter after a fan said that he wished he had been on SmackDown 1000. That certainly explains his absence.

It does make one wonder about the current relationship between Chris Jericho and World Wrestling Entertainment. It says a lot that they’re not asking for one of their biggest past stars to appear at their milestone television events. Jericho, is of course, the current New Japan Pro-Wrestling Intercontinental Champion, so maybe that was an issue. Although, he did wear his NJPW-affiliated shirt on RAW 25, so who really knows at this point.
