Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer noted that Punishment Martinez finished up all of his committed dates with ROH this weekend and dropped his ROH TV Title in his last match with the company.
Meltzer is reporting now that Martinez is heading to the WWE to begin training at the Performance Center. He was known for his time in ROH competing at last year’s Honor Rising show, and competing against Jay White for the IWGP United States title during this year’s War of the Worlds tour. He defeated Silas Young for the Television title back in June.
PWInsider.com is also reporting sources have indicated WWE is interested in Martinez, noting NXT is a ‘likely destination’ for the former Television Champion.
