Former WCW owner and Vince McMahon rival, Ted Turner, has been diagnosed with lewy body dementia.
According to USA Today, the neurological condition is the same that afflicted comedian Robin Williams, in the last years of his life.
Ted Turner revealed the condition in a CBS Sunday Morning interview with Ted Koppel.
Turner told Koppel,
“It’s a mild case of what people have as Alzheimer’s. It’s similar to that. But not nearly as bad. Alzheimer’s is fatal. Thank goodness I don’t have that.”
According to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, the disease affects an estimated 1.4 million individuals and their families in the United States alone. The disease is described as a progressive neurological disorder that attacks the areas of the brain responsible for behavior, cognition, and movement.
Turner’s interview with Koppel airs this Sunday morning at 9AM EST on CBS.
