NXT Superstar Shayna Baszler was interviewed by Justin Davis of The A-Show podcast during the WWE 2K19 event in Orlando, discussing her appearance on the game as well as her favorite video games, her love for Meiko Satomura, and whether she would ever face Ronda Rousey in a program.
You can listen to the interview here at the 21-minute mark (Credit to Christopher McManus of WrestleZone for the transcription):
On being on the game:
“Finding out that I am on the game is one thing, but to actually see yourself as a random wrestler on the menu, you’re like, ‘Holy smokes!’ [laughs]”
On what she is currently playing:
“Final Fantasy VII is my favorite video game and I had a conversation on Up Up Down Down and I don’t wanna say who is my favorite character, but my default would be Sephiroth.”
On the Mae Young Classic:
“It’s pretty crazy because I was at the tournament and it’s differeent to be on the outside and watch them be all stressed out, but I think it’s cool for them to see me there and see that I am an examaple of the opportunities that can be presented being there. The stakes are there and it speaks well for women’s wrestling as a whole.
Shayna on facing Ronda Rousey in a singles program:
“With Ronda we’re an actual team; whenever there’s a win for her, there’s a win for all of us [MMA Four Horsewomen]. I don’t have any plans of feuding with her, but if it ever happens, I wouldn’t want to say it it will be a feud. I will liken it to a linebacker having a quarterback as a friend; he is not going to keep himself from driving the quarterback down to the ground because they are close. It would be a banger for sure, but the both of use wouldn’t need any consuleing to remain frieds [laughs].”
