#2.) Face-off with The Rock
When John Cena had a face-off with The Rock at WrestleMania 28, it was already his fourth main event at the Grandest stage of them all. He had beaten two legends in Shawn Michaels and Triple H, but despite all the main events and all the accolades, it didn’t get any bigger than this.
This was perhaps the pinnacle of Cena’s stardom in the WWE as he took on The Rock in the main event of WrestleMania. One can get chills just from watching the two stare each other down in front of 78,000 people. It may not have been once in a lifetime as advertised, but it was a moment that neither competitor will ever forget.
#1.) John Cena becomes a 16-time World Champion
John Cena tying Ric Flair‘s supposed record of sixteen world championships was always inevitable for fans. Many believed that it would happen at the grandest stage of them all, but no one expected it to come against AJ Styles at the Royal Rumble.
Having a fantastic, long and drawn out match, the two were able to do what they do best and have the crowd of 40,000 on their feet throughout the match. It was the conclusion of an incredible trilogy between the two that saw Cena finally capture his 16th world title, much to the delight of the pro-AJ Styles crowd. There were very few that were unhappy with the result, and how could you be after the match that they pulled off?
