#3.) The Ultimate Warrior
If you looked at the context at the time, The Ultimate Warrior was actually the perfect successor on paper to Hulk Hogan. The two even had a huge showdown at WrestleMania VI, where Hogan passed the proverbial torch to the Warrior. The Ultimate Warrior was all set to begin his run as the face of WWE but unfortunately, he wasn’t as big a draw in live events as WWE had hoped.
Perhaps that coupled with backstage politics saw Warrior’s reign on top cut short, ending his reign at a little over 8 months. While that isn’t a short stretch by any means, it turned out to be The Warrior’s only World title reign. Hogan would regain the top spot a year after his reign began.
