When you think of megastars in WWE, you probably think of four major names – Hulk Hogan, ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, The Rock and John Cena. Sure, we’ve seen many larger-than-life names such as Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, etc. but these four were truly the cream of the crop and the biggest megastars in WWE history.
Throughout its history, WWE has constantly searched for its next major star. They look at young up-and-coming talent and try to find out who is the most worthy to succeed the throne. However, over the past few years, it’s been abundantly clear that WWE has no plans of making another mega-star.
They have pushed Roman Reigns to the moon, but the kind of push was not the same as the prior four megastars. In essence, John Cena really is WWE’s last megastar and here are a few reasons why that’s the case.
