Brutus Beefcake may have been a former Tag Team Championship, but one title that frustratingly eluded him was the Intercontinental Championship. Not only was he supposed to win the title at SummerSlam 1988, but he was even supposed to win it at SummerSlam 1990, until the near-fatal accident happened.
The beneficiary of that was Kerry Von Erich, who defeated Mr. Perfect to become Intercontinental Champion.
