#2.) His brief “Fur Face” gimmick
After his devastating injury, Vince McMahon looked for a way to incorporate Beefcake back to WWE television, and the idea was to make him a mystery masked man, who would attack heels. It was unmistakably the Barber, but for some reason, the gimmick was dropped. The man who would wear a mask and an Indian body-protector abruptly disappeared from programming.
Later that year, Beefcake would return as “The Barber”, hosting the Barber Shop segment. It’s presumably because he wasn’t cleared for an in-ring return yet.
