Tetsuya Naito may not always be in the same conversation as Kazuchika Okada, Hiroshi Tanahashi or even Kenny Omega for being one of the best in-ring performers in the world, but make no mistake about it – he’s a top 7 in-ring performer at the very least, if not top 5.
He’s always had the potential and he’s always been great in the ring, but perhaps because of his lack of character, his matches just didn’t mean as much. Since 2015 and his turn to Los Ingobernables de Japon, people started getting far more invested in him and subsequently, got far more invested in his matches as well.
