Between 2011 to 2017, WWE really didn’t do the Royal Rumble justice. Sure, we saw quite a few classics, but the Royal Rumble match itself would end up in disappointment, primarily because fans weren’t satisfied with the match winner. They managed to rectify this in 2018, as Shinsuke Nakamura and Asuka won the Royal Rumble matches.
It was the first time in years that WWE gave fans a winner they were satisfied with. Thankfully, it seems like the era of part-timers dominating is coming to an end, and over the next few years, it’s very likely that we’re going to see more full-time and younger superstars win the accolade.
Also, with two Rumble matches now taking place, there’s atleast a chance of one satisfactory winner if not two. Given the history of things going wrong at the Royal Rumble, these are five things that WWE need to do to get it right.
