#2.) Overcoming Shawn Michaels at No Mercy 2008
Chris Jericho had taken on a completely new persona in 2008. That year turned out to be the greatest of his career as it was well-acknowledged that he had taken it to another level. It was by far his greatest persona and his feud with Shawn Michaels was the best rivalry of that year.
Michaels won their Unsanctioned match at Unforgiven that year, but when Jericho won the World Heavyweight Championship, Michaels wasn’t too far behind. It culminated in a ladder match in what can best be described as a match with masterful storytelling. The two elite competitors used the ladder as a prop for the story and Jericho won an intense tug of war to retain the title, while the crowd looked on in tension.
