#1.) Longest reigning X-Division Champion in Impact Wrestling history
Austin Aries won the X-Division Championship in September 2011 after signing a new short-term contract with TNA. He would go on to have a legendary run with the championship, defeating a large chunk of the roster and holding the X-Division title for 298 days. It was around this time that Aries had signed a contract extension with the company.
It was a significant period of time because he was gaining a lot of steam and fans began to get behind him despite being a heel. He was hotter than ever and TNA pulled the trigger at the right moment. He relinquished the X-Division title for a shot at the TNA World Heavyweight Championship and defeated Bobby Roode to win the title at Destination X 2012 in what many consider one of the greatest matches and moments in the history of the promotion.
