Lashley was on an absolute tear as Impact Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion. He was on an incredible heel run that saw him decimate the cream of the crop in Impact Wrestling. He began a feud with Eddie Edwards, who was X-Division Champion at the time. He would beat Edwards and become double champion as well.
On an episode of Impact Wrestling, Eddie Edwards took the world by surprise when he dethroned the dominant Lashley to become World Champion. The finish was booked to perfection and it all happened in a split second. Although he would lose the title back to Lashley in a few months, the win marked an absolutely incredible moment for Edwards.
