An absolutely surreal fact is that Daniel Bryan, Shinsuke Nakamura, and MMA legend Lyoto Machida were roommates in a 2-bedroom apartment. Daniel Bryan even revealed on The Bear Hug It Out Wrestling Podcast that Shinsuke Nakamura and Lyoto Machida didn’t particularly like each other.
The fact of the matter was, neither of them spoke very good English. He said they understood just about enough to cause miscommunication and described their distaste for one another as a ‘little rivalry’. He even stated that he had to be the peacemaker among them, being the only one who spoke fluent English.
It’s incredible to think that they were roommates before they embarked on three different legendary careers.
