Trent Seven is buzzing about what awaits in 2024.
WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard recently spoke with Trent Seven, who signed with TNA Wrestling this month. Seven made his debut at Final Resolution as the partner of “Speedball” Mike Bailey, and the pair dubbed themselves “Speedball Mountain.”
Seven told Cultaholic Wrestling that he had only been speaking with TNA for the past few weeks before Final Resolution. He was wearing a neck towel with the TNA logo embroidered on it, which he also told WrestleZone was a quick turnaround once the contract was signed.
While he hopes to work with Bailey again (and teased making Bailey grow a mustache to match his), Seven sees 2024 being a big year for his career.
“A lot of [my future] is going to be focused on the physical side of Trent Seven. I’ve got a lot of goals I want to reach personally and physically. I think as long as I keep my little mantra of ensuring that the fans get the best quality performance and the best quality,” he explained, “the value for their money from watching me perform, I think 2024 is going to be a very good year.”
The Talisman of TNA
While speaking about working with Joe Hendry prior to signing with TNA, Trent Seven mentioned having “a full year of trying to get as many of those TNA titles over my shoulder as I can.” Pritchard asked to clarify the length of his TNA deal, and Seven said “it’s an ongoing contract.”
Seven hopes to work with Hendry again, but said Josh Alexander is at the top of his list of potential opponents.
“Josh Alexander fires off the tip of the tongue. Absolutely fires off the tip of the tongue,” he stated. “We’ve never got to mix it up one-on-one, which is something that I’ve wanted to do for quite some years now. It’s crazy how the world works. It’s been written down on potential match cards all over the world, to be honest. So there’s been quite a few times where it’s very, nearly, very nearly happened. But to be able to now look at it going forward for 2024 and knowing that that’s a nice goal that I can have personally.
“Moreso, Josh is an incredible performer. We all know it,” he added. “He’s the talisman of IMPACT, and I’m sure he’ll be the talisman of TNA going forward. He’s my kind of main target on the solo adventure of next year. Josh Alexander, superior wrestler, supreme performer. It’s time to meet him one-on-one for the first ever time in a TNA ring.”
Leap into the new year
Trent Seven noted how TNA/IMPACT has been resilient, seeing how hard the roster fights for the company they work for. He said the company has been impressive, especially in the last three years. He’s thrilled to be part of it now.
“I feel like that’s really given us a platform to leap forward into 2024. And like you said, the rebranding, the TNA logo is back on the center of the ring. Me personally, I’m absolutely buzzing, to be honest, to get 2024 underway. There’s a lot of people there that really deserve this as well,” he said. “It’s going to be really cool to be able to do that journey and take that journey from IMPACT all the way through to TNA with them. So, yeah, it’ll be an excellent little journey.”
