Steve Maclin sets the record straight about what makes Bully Ray soft.
WrestleZone recently spoke with Steve Maclin, who explained his issues with Bully Ray. The pair started the year on the same side, attacking PCO and putting him out of action. Now, Maclin says Bully went soft, and he highlights exactly why he feels that way.
“Listen, it’s one of those things where it’s just, I guess with D-Von coming back, it just kind of stirred up old emotions. It just changed him a little bit. I don’t know if it’s him on this nostalgia kick, but when he asked for my help, I went and helped him with PCO. Obviously, we poured battery acid down his throat. We burned him alive and we’ve done everything that we possibly could and we got the job done.
“But now here we are, me asking him for help with Rhino and all he wants to do is talk to him. A guy like Bully Ray doesn’t talk. I know he’ll go out there and he’ll talk about it, but when he wants to get something done, he gets it done. That kind of just didn’t sit with me right. So that’s why I wanted to put it into his head. I’m like, ‘Oh, you’ve gone soft.’”
Bully ultimately got the upper hand on Maclin. He put him through a barbed wire table at Bound For Glory, so it’s safe to assume that this feud is not over.
Life’s pretty good
Pritchard joked about maybe Maclin being the one that went soft, noting how his social media antics might highlight that. Maclin said he’s good at keeping online and in the ring separate, but being married to Deonna Purrazzo has been nothing but a great experience.
“It’s great. Honestly, even when we got married, it was for the day, and then after that, it’s like we’ve been married the whole time. Nothing’s really changed other than I say yes a little bit more. It’s the best. I’m married to my best friend. We get to travel the world together,” he said.
“I can’t complain outside of wrestling, life’s good. Maybe after Monster’s Ball, the way I feel after that on the toll on my body, I won’t feel as good,” he added. “But we’ll see. But other than that, life’s pretty good, man.”
