Willow Nightingale got Eddie Kingston’s seal of approval.
Willow appeared onstage at Starrcast VI ahead of AEW All Out. Nightingale, the former NJPW Strong Women’s Champion, surprised fans as she recited Eddie Kingston’s debut AEW promo.
During a recent conversation with WrestleZone, Willow Nightingale revealed it was actually RJ City’s idea to recreate it.
“That was all RJ City’s idea. Because he is a wacky, quirky, creative genius. And when he approached me about it, I was like, ‘Ah, I don’t know.’ Then I rewatched the promo,” she explained, “and I was like, ‘Yeah, I could do it. We can do that.’”
Willow didn’t tell Kingston about it in advance, and the promo was a hit with the live audience. How did the new ROH World Champion react to it?
“And I didn’t tell Eddie about it before it happened. And then I was a little nervous to see him,” she noted. “He was like, ‘Oh, it was horrible… But I loved it!’ I was like, thank God!”
