Zoey Stark is making the most of the opportunities available to her.
Stark spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard at SummerSlam. Stark was called up to RAW from NXT earlier this year, and she’s been fortunate to be aligned with Trish Stratus.
Zoey Stark was asked what it’s been like sitting under the learning tree of a legend like Trish Stratus. Stark said she appreciates every day for how much the pairing has helped her.
“It’s actually been really amazing to sit back and watch and really learn from her. She’s really amazing at what she does,” Zoey Stark said. “I’m so glad that she’s back and actually helping me out. She’s doing a big thing for me and I appreciate every single day that I get to spend with her.”
More Room To Grow
At WrestleMania, Stark told Pritchard she’d like to be on SmackDown. Charlotte Flair, then SmackDown Women’s Champion, was in the room and Stark had her eyes on that prize. Now, she sees how being on RAW has helped her in ways that going to SmackDown would not have.
“RAW is a three-hour show, so you have more opportunities to get a little bit more time. So if you just [omit the work I’ve done with Trish and Becky Lynch], I was able to have a couple of matches on my own,” Stark explained. “Because of that [additional air time], I’ve been able to make more of an impact. I definitely think RAW has been a big help.”
What should fans expect from Zoey Stark for the rest of the year?
“[They should expect] just me dominating. I already put down ‘The Man’. I beat her once,” Stark proclaimed. “Let’s see what happens between Trish and Becky in Winnipeg, which Trish is going to win. We’ll go from there.”
