Bobby Roode vs. Drew McIntyre BayBay
He is back and better than ever. It is hard to overshadow the excellence of Bobby Roode, but tonight was not about Roode. The Glorious One took on Drew McIntyre in an excellent, physical and stellar main event to cap off NXT Takeover Brooklyn III. After about 20 minutes, the final two minutes of the match were captivating. McIntyre performed a Future Shock on Roode for a near-fall and then followed up with a Claymore on Roode. Roode was able to get his foot on the bottom rope. Bobby Roode performed a Glorious DDT on McIntyre for a near-fall. Roode hit a second Glorious DDT on McIntyre and rolled through for a third DDT. Drew McIntyre reversed that, hit a headbutt and then a Claymore kick for the win. Drew McIntyre is your new NXT Champion.
It was not over, as O’Reilly and Fish came out. Adam Cole came out and attacked the champion from behind, making a HUGE statement that this is going to be one hell of a ride in NXT. BayBay is in NXT and Adam Cole has the world buzzing. Even though Adam Cole was the big talk, rightfully so, Drew looks incredible and evolved his offense so much over the past few years. He is a monster in the ring with a Cruiserweight mentality. Case and point was his insane leap from the ring to crash into Roode.
Drew, Bobby Roode, Fish and O’Reilly, Cole, Black, Andrade, Gargano. All of these names come from different paths, but all of them are here to show that NXT never rebuilds, they reload. The talent at NXT Takeover Brooklyn shows myself and all of the fans that this is certainly the best brand in professional wrestling. NXT continues to do it right and the crowd pushed this to a memorable night that will not soon be forgotten.
