Shinsuke Nakamura Attacks Baron Corbin
In a role reversal, Nakamura attacked Baron Corbin during his entrance, similar to what Corbin did to him a few weeks ago. I really like this and think that match with these two could really help both men out in the long run. We all know that Baron is going to lose a few matches because he can with the briefcase in hand. I want to see Nakamura become a bad ass and become a guy that thrives on his strong style again. His booking has been skeptical, especially trying to make him as an “artist.”
The long run for both men are similar. They are not ready to be in the main event, but they are getting better faster. Smackdown Live has a lot of really good superstars, but they have those few that are heads and shoulders above the rest. I am sure you can see them, the time is now.
Women’s Division Action
Both teams were battling back and forth, with Becky Lynch taking a bulk of the beatings. Charlotte cleans some house but Lana came out and was able to distract Charlotte. This allowed Tamina to score the victory after a big kick from Nattie. With the tag team match for the women, it really gave you a chance to see more of what Tamina can do. She is never going to be the best, but a bodyguard type role is something that is familiar for her.
What do you do with Lana? She lost in embarrassing fashion last week and was already paired up with someone. I am not sure they are going to get what they think with Tamina. Not to discredit either or them, but the pairing feels like a desperate attempt at trying to make them important together. I do think the contender match at WWE Battleground, you have to give Charlotte the championship match at SummerSlam.
