WWE Great Balls of Fire featured a forgettable Intercontinental Championship match, as Dean Ambrose vs. The Miz took place once again. With The Miztourage looking fresh and better than the previous week, Miz took it to Dean Ambrose throughout most of the match. Dean tried to fight off Miz’s cronies early on, but distractions and the numbers game took over. Dean Ambrose would lose to The Miz in about 12 minutes, thanks to Maryse’s distraction and then him hitting a Skull Crushing Finale.

Everyone knows my views on Dean Ambrose and they are not changing. He is an average player who has tried to win over his critics time and time again. There is something missing with him and it is not changing. He gets a great pop, but the matches he puts on are just average. Tonight, the fans cared more about Bo Dallas’ outfit than the match. With The Miz being at the top of his game as a heel, maybe WWE should give us an Intercontinental Championship match that we have not seen 7 times before. It is repetitive and peaked when they first included Renee Young. Since then, it has been about The Miz making something out of nothing.

What about Finn Balor vs. The Miz? If AJ Styles can become United States Champion, Finn Balor should be used to his fullest and there is not enough room for him at the top of the card. The Miz would be a great fit for Finn, if they do not go the route of Seth Rollins at SummerSlam.

Roman and Braun Go Even Further

Physicality. Power vs. Power. The action of this Ambulance match was really strong, with Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman giving us everything we need in a feud. From the powerslams to Braun crashing through the set on stage, you had every element of a physical battle spotlighted here. WWE Great Balls of Fire took another big and calculated risk when Braun Strowman picked up the win and then Roman Reigns came out of the Ambulance looking to fight even more. This led to Roman putting Braun in the Ambulance and then Roman backing it into a massive truck. As the crew tried to get him out, a fire truck came and pried the door open. Braun, bloodied and beaten, stumbled a few times to try and stand up. He refuses medical attention and walks away on his own.

Damn. Talk about an excellent moment of storytelling here. If WWE Great Balls of Fire accomplished anything tonight, it was that Braun Strowman looks like an absolute monster and a beast who cannot be kept down for long periods of time. The booking for him has been fantastic. Also, many people are talking about a double turn. I would love that, but Roman Reigns might always be who he is now. He could use a little more attitude and heel traits from time to time, but I would be surprised if they fully let him be a heel. It really does not matter who he faces because he always puts on a hell of a show. Luckily, Braun Strowman is at the top of anyone’s game right now and the fans are appreciating it. Hell, even the marks who hate big guys are loving him.

Braun wins, Roman looks more ruthless than ever and we still have a main event to talk about. WWE Great Balls of Fire has delivered on the big feuds in Dallas.
