Big Cass Ends His Relationship with Enzo Amore

Well, it happened and happened to mixed reactions. My first and only real gripe is that they should have had a lengthy run as tag team champions. They sell merch, were super over with every crowd and had two young guys to rely on when they needed time to kill or a face team to partner with main event level guys. Is Cass ready?

They dismissed Big Show and The Revival as possible attackers to Enzo and Cass. We get security footage, thanks to Corey Graves, of Big Cass seen setting up a fake attack on him. Cass admitted attacking his partner and even extending the controversy to see if Enzo was smart enough to figure it out. After trashing Enzo, he said he was holding him down and that he was only ever all talk. He made Enzo cry and then delivered a boot for good measure.

Big Cass cut one HELL of a promo on WWE RAW to end the night. I was surprised to see this end the night, but I am alright with it. They were the most over tag team we have seen in many years and have a close relationship that needed a big spotlight on it. It also makes Big Cass look and feel like a big deal, so we have this thought that he could be a main event level guy. He will have to overcome a lot to do this, including leaping MULTIPLE guys. I really hope WWE does good with the payoff, giving them a much deserved match at SummerSlam. It does not have to be long, but it has to feel meaningful during the build and benefit both guys moving forward.

WWE RAW was much better this week because it was less crap and more development. They focused on adding details to stories and not just breeze through the booking with tag team matches. Positive steps heading into the summer months and more reason why WWE RAW can still be as good as Smackdown Live. They are trying to give fresh and underutilized talent an opportunity to become something new, something fresh. They are also banking on the guys that get the best reaction and overall legit “main event” guys. Yes, many things need changed but this is a step in the right direction for more superstars than less.
