WWE United States Championship
I was wrong. I thought this needed the Universal Championship on the line at WrestleMania 33, but it does not. Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens have been the best thing going on a WWE RAW in a very long time. The connection they have with one another, from a comedic and intense standpoint, is second to none. They are completely different in the way they are viewed. Jericho is a legend, still putting on excellent matches. Kevin Owens has had a hell of a career, but he is finally getting a match on the grandest stage of them all to showcase how good he can be. This match gives us everything we asked for in September and a showcase of Canadians are in line to steal the show.
I expect Chris Jericho to lose this match, but I said the same thing last year when Chris Jericho defeated AJ Styles. All signs point to Jericho getting his revenge and beating his former “best friend.” With logic these days, you never know what WWE would want to do. You cannot say a loss for Kevin Owens buries him. Look at what AJ Styles did last year and where he is at now. This match does wonders for both guys and if Chris Jericho wants to stay around in 2017, I would not mind him in a Universal Championship feud. Strap him up, maaaaan.
You KNOW they want to do everything in their power to be remembered like Michaels vs. Angle, Michaels vs. Jericho and other great personal feuds.
For Jericho and Owens, it is about stealing the show at WrestleMania 33. Do I think they can? Absolutely. I am really hoping they are slated to get 20-25 minutes of ring work. If that happens, this will go in the history books.
