There isn’t a more known wrestler than Hulk Hogan, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is a bigger star now, but has lost the wrestler tag and a lot of people don’t even know he was in the ring, while John Cena and Batista just started making movies. Mr. America has been a household name for such a long time now, and he started off his acting career in a big way – portraying a wrestler Thunderlips The Alpha Male in Rocky III. He ended up starring in a lot of films, and these are the five best Hulk Hogan movies made.

Suburban Commando (1991)

Surprisingly enough, Hulk Hogan’s movie career is filled with a lot of comedies, action comedies of course. And you’ll probably get the most burst out laughing moments from Suburban Commando as Hogan portrays an interstellar hero who has landed in a typical American suburban neighborhood. He has the best acting partner of his entire career in Christopher Lloyd, who plays Hogan’s landlord and gets into a lot of trouble with Hogan’s character to blame, but also save him. Hogan’s character Shep Ramsey exploring life on Earth will have you laughing out loud with some memorable unexpected scenes in the spirit of ’90s comedy.

Mr. Nanny (1993)

A mix between Home Alone and Commando, Mr. Nanny displays both strong sides of Hulk Hogan acting – over the top comedy and pure action capacity and naturalness. Hogan plays Sean Armstrong, a former wrestling star who takes on a bodyguard job, protecting but also nannying two brats, a boy, and a girl. But it’s actually he who needs protection from them, as they are both crazier, smarter, and more sadistic versions of Kevin from Home Alone. At least until they get kidnapped and Armstrong has to go out and save them, Commando style. A lot of crazy Hulk Hogan acting in this one as those kids put him through hell.

3 Ninjas: High Noon at Mega Mountain (1998)

Hulk Hogan teams up with 3 Ninjas in their fourth movie as the boys visit an amusement park Mega Mountain. Hogan’s character, a former TV star Dave Dragon, is also there, and the park gets attacked by an army of ninjas led by the evil Medusa. Dragon brings power to the finesse and technique of the three young, good ninjas, and even though it’s a 3 Ninjas movie, Hogan steals the show completely and is the focal point on the movie poster for a reason. Also, Dave Dragon deserves a real TV show.

No Holds Barred (1989)

The only movie that was in front of No Holds Barred in box office revenue on its release was Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade! Vince McMahon was a financial and executive producer of the movie and naturally, the movie is about wrestling. Hogan plays World Wrestling Federation champion Rip, and a new World Television Network executive pressures him into wrestling for his network, but Rip refuses. The executive doesn’t stop there and manipulates a brawler champion Zeus into a feud with Rip with fistfights galore.

Thunder In Paradise (1993)

As a true action star from the ’80s and ’90s, Hogan had an action-movie franchise – Thunder in Paradise. One with a truly wacky premise. Hogan, an ex-Navy S. E. A. L. struggles to find ends meet and gets salvation for him and his boat by marrying a rich, snobby woman. But it’s when his wife gets kidnapped that R.J. “Hurricane” Spencer (Hogan) and his partner Martin ‘Bru’ Brubaker must get her back, so Hurricane has to go back to his old talents, picked up in the Navy. Two more Thunder in Paradise movies followed in 1994 and 1995, with a TV show created in 1994.
