The Wyatt Family Become Champions
Kicking off WWE TLC, The Wyatt Family took on Heath Slater and Rhyno. What I wanted to be a 10-15 minute match only last about 6-7 minutes and it felt like there could have been so much more. The champions got a little advantage early, but it did not last. Randy Orton hit a nice body slam when Heath jumped off the ropes. He would follow up with a calculated attack on the mat, while Bray Wyatt controlled a bit of his offense. It all came down to Randy Orton hitting an RKO and getting the pin on Rhyno to claim the tag team championships.
It look over three years for Bray Wyatt to capture his first championship in WWE. Talk about overdue. I am beginning to like what they are doing with all three men right now and the addition of Randy Orton makes it fresh and solidifies them as a big threat to anyone. I still would like Orton to dress more like them, engulf himself in his character change and really make this a memorable moment in his career. If Matt Hardy can become #Broken, Randy Orton can become something new. The tag team titles on Smackdown needed importance and meaning. They immediately got this with a title change, even though the fun with Slater and Rhyno was really enjoyable. It was time for a change and WWE made the right decision tonight.
Nikki Bella Gets Revenge
A No Disqualification match pitted Carmella and Nikki Bella together. They wasted no time in heading to the outside, ramming each other into the barricade and also getting use out of a Kendo Stick. Carmella used it first, but Nikki would get the final laugh. Some aggressive attacks and a scrappy victory for Nikki Bella tonight.
I felt like Nikki Bella needed to shut up Carmella and pick up a win. She did just that, but it seems like Natalya is going to be next for Nikki Bella. Why? Why do we need to constantly see Natalya is a prime spot? With other women not being utilized to their fullest, WWE goes back to the well. I would rather see an Eva Marie return, targeting Nikki. I would rather see this drag on for another month and reveal someone that could really benefit from being in a feud with Nikki.
Carmella reaped the benefits in a solid, not forced, feud with Nikki Bella. I hope she keeps afloat, potentially getting an opportunity to face Becky Lynch or maybe spur something with an athletic and talented Naomi.
