Dean Ambrose vs. Dolph Ziggler
A match that I expected more out of was this one. Dolph Ziggler and Dean Ambrose ramped up the personal storylines as of late, but this match was misplaced on the card and seemed to disconnect from the crowd. Was it a bad match? Not at all, but I did want to see more drama and more potential for a title change. I never felt for a second that there could be a surprise victory. Was this underwhelming? Yes, yes it was. You knew a mistake from Ziggler would turn into his ultimate demise, tonight being Dirty Deeds.
I liked the pacing of the match and liked the execution, but when you take a crowd out of it and have no emotion coming from them, it is hard to really get invested into what they are trying to do in the ring. I give them credit for making this a good match, but their talents together should have made it great. We did see more of a heel character from Ambrose tonight. Will this continue?
Tag Team Championships
Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows took on Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. The match started to the pacing of Kofi Kingston’s delight. He controlled the offfense with kicks, suplexes and two counts. Anderson and Gallows would get into their offensive scheme, focusing on dissecting just one guy at a time. With Jon Stewart on the outside, you knew something would end up happening.
The match got spilled to the outside and then Stewart got involved. He would fool around in the ring, but then Big E comes out and causes a disqualification. The Club picks up the win, but New Day remains WWE Tag Team Champions. I just did not like this at all. I did not like Jon Stewart getting more of the attention than the guys in the ring. If Stewart was part of a storyline before tonight, I would understand. But he was not and he was thrown randomly into a match that could have really helped Anderson and Gallows get their BIG moment. With what happened later in the night, This should have been one moment in a night of many for a specific group of guys.
