Isenberg Reacts: WWE RAW “All Was Well Without Roman”

Sasha Banks and Paige defeated Charlotte and Dana Brooke

wwe-raw-social-1-2.jpg

Tag Team action on RAW with four women in differing paths. The heels start off early with Brooke and Paige. Overpowering Paige, Brooke tags in Charlotte and the champion is in control. Paige hits a few clotheslines and forearms, sending the champion reeling. Sasha gets the tag and clears the ring, with the help of Paige. Dana ends up getting hit with The Bank Statement and taps out, with Charlotte looking on from the outside.

Good action tonight and very simple. You begin to build the face in the feud, with Sasha Banks getting the spotlight. For the love of God, please keep Paige on track to getting back to an important role in the Women’s Division. I liked the combination tonight and the coward moves and motions from Charlotte. Dana is the muscle, but the muscle that takes all of the beating. She gets a few of her shots in, but she is there to protect. Good chemistry from all four and another positive step for Banks/Paige/Brooke/Charlotte combination.

A More Aggressive Titus O’Neil

Titus attacks Rusev before the bell rings and sends him into the corner. He hits punches and elbows to the chest.  The Bulgarian Brute hits a clothesline and then a beautiful kick to Titus, sending him to the mat. Titus continues the beating and then Titus fights back. He hits a clothesline and then a splash into the corner. Another clothesline and slam gives him a two count. Titus runs around the ring and they both collide into each other with clotheslines.  Titus ends up sending Rusev through the barrier. He makes it back in the ring and Rusev is counted out.

A physical and interesting booking decision. WWE does not want to completely turn their back on Titus vs. Rusev, so they are trying to forego the usual USA vs. Russian feud and focus more on the physical aspect of this feud. I think that is a good thing to do, especially since Titus has never really been about representing USA. This needs to be different to succeed and tonight showed that they are trying something new. I am skeptical about the count out loss and the DQ’s, but you can’t simply have either man cleanly beat the other. This isn’t Attitude Era matches, are they?
