Introducing Sami Zayn
Everyone who reads my articles likely knows who Sami Zayn is, but the general WWE Universe may not. WWE made a solid first step reintroducing him to the crowd with an appearance on Miz TV and then teaming up with Neville to take on Kevin Owens and The Miz. Do I love the constant Miz TV segments for new guys to get the crowd behind them? No, but it is effective. The Miz is good at what he is asked to do. Sami and Kevin exchanged some words and Neville got involved in the mix. What this segment told me everything I need to know.
Kevin Owens will likely have more than one challenger for his Intercontinental Championship. He is currently in a few feuds and leaving The Miz will not do him any justice. With these four people involved tonight, I can see an addition of Dolph Ziggler and potentially one more person. While adding more guys makes sense, WWE needs to be careful that Zayn’s return to WWE and his first FULL run with the main roster does not get overlooked. Let the story of him and Owens carry much of the next few weeks and see if they have something special in a guy who established himself as one of the best performers in NXT history.
More Brie and Lana
Another night and the same outcome for Lana and Brie Bella. Bella picks up a win over Summer Rae, but gets attacked by Lana. Is it time for Lana to have her first match? It seems very random that she is targeting Brie, especially wearing what she is and not appearing with Rusev. Can WWE make up their damn mind on what they want? Do you want Lana and Rusev to be a power couple? Separate on-camera to establish more of an identity for Lana? They aren’t sure and makes for lazy booking decisions.
