Isenberg Reacts: Impact Wrestling’s 4 Point Plan For 2016

Consistency of Your Roster

Impact WrestlingFor many years, we have seen so much talent come and go from TNA. The list is longer than a child’s Christmas list, but TNA has failed to develop consistent storylines because of it. When you are trying to build feuds, build rivalries and make money you need all hands on deck at all times. I want to see TNA have 20 consistent men who you know are going to be there. Being on television 1-2 weeks a month does nothing to build a character, a gimmick. TNA needs to find their top tier guys. Here is who I think should be at the top:

-EC3, Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, Lashley, Eric Young, Mr. Anderson, Tyrus, Bram, Drew Galloway, Jesse Godderz, Bobby Roode

The second tier are more tag teams and X-Division guys like:

-Tigre Uno, DJ Z, The Wolves, Eli Drake, Shera, Micah, Robbie E

After you know these are going to be guys that you can rely on, then branch off slowly and make sure you add more pieces to the puzzle. TNA has a great opportunity to learn from many of their mistakes, develop a consistent product and rely on the talent that can produce compelling and intriguing storylines. It has never been about the talent, it has always been about the handling of said talent.

Go Live More Often

With this new television deal, I think TNA needs to hold 2 live episodes a month. Have 4 tapings each month. You can have one live, followed by the next night taped for the following week. That gives you only 1 day a week which should not be extremely expensive. When you have so many taped shows, fans love interest quickly and read us jerks and our spoilers! It also lets the writing team be more creative.

I have spoken to writers before and producers. They will all say it is difficult to write for a month’s worth of television in one night. Every other week’s show should be live. I am a realist and know that going live every week isn’t feasible at this time. Small steps could make a big difference.
