Alberto Del Rio defeated Neville
Smackdown kicks off with the new champion and he gets challenged by Neville. High flying and acrobatic mixed with technical and savviness from both men. Del Rio picks up the win whenever Alberto Del Rio blocks the Red Arrow and then hits the double stomp before an Armbreaker.
Jack Swagger comes out and both men stare at one another, reminding us of their history.
I do not like it. It has nothing to do with Swagger’s ability, but why does WWE think they can rewind and try something from 2 and a half years ago? It is a lazy attempt at trying to get Swagger over again. If they want Del Rio as a heel, give him someone worthy. Give him a Dean Ambrose or someone that could use a new feud.
The Uso’s Are Back
Jimmy and Jey returned on Raw and had their first tag team match against The Ascension. It was obvious who would win and the match was played out very similar to what we have seen before. Viktor and Konnor attack early, but one misstep gives The Uso’s their finishing splash off the top.
Do we expect Jimmy and Jey to go right back to the top? I think they will immediately become the team that potentially defeats The New Day. It may not come soon, but in a few months I can see it happening.
Tag Team Wrestling was hurting when these guys were out, so it is nice to see them back in action. I just hope we do not get these squash tag team matches and develop more depth and intrigue with more than one team at a time. Also, what are the odds of Cesaro and The Uso’s vs. The Ascension and Stardust?
